3. Consultation and Engagement Process
To use our services:
- Complete our contact form with accurate and complete information
- A TruePath Resolution specialist will contact you for an initial assessment
- We will discuss service options, timeline, and fees
- Services begin only after mutual acceptance in writing
We reserve the right to decline clients or services at our discretion.
4. Information Provided by the Client
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate, complete, and current information
- Disclosing all relevant tax information, including outstanding debts, prior audits, and previous agreements with the IRS
- Notifying us immediately of changes in your situation
- Formally authorizing our representation before the IRS through a Power of Attorney (Form 2848)
Incomplete or inaccurate information may affect our ability to represent you effectively.
5. Fees and Payments
Fees will be discussed and agreed in writing before services begin. Payment terms include:
- A clear cost structure (initial consultation, representation, etc.)
- A payment schedule (upfront, by stage, or upon resolution)
- Reimbursable expenses (IRS filing fees, mailings, etc.)
- Refund policy (where applicable)
Specific terms will be documented in your Engagement Letter.
6. Limitation on Results
TruePath Resolution cannot guarantee specific results in any tax case. Factors outside our control include:
- Discretionary decisions by the IRS
- Changes in tax legislation
- New information that emerges during the case
- Changes in your personal financial situation
Our role is to represent your interests to the best of our ability in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
7. Confidentiality and Professional Relationship
We keep all client information confidential. Your communications are protected under principles of professional-relationship confidentiality. We will not disclose information without your consent except as required by law or to perform our services.
8. TruePath Resolution's Responsibilities
We commit to:
- Acting professionally and in your best interest
- Maintaining regular communication about the status of your case
- Respecting the confidentiality of personal information
- Complying with applicable laws and regulations
- Informing you of legal or regulatory changes that affect your case
9. Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint or dispute relating to our services:
- First contact our client service team for informal resolution
- If unresolved, we may use mediation
- Any litigation will be resolved in the courts of San Diego County, California
10. Limitation of Liability
Except where prohibited by law:
- TRUEPATH RESOLUTION IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
- Our total liability does not exceed the amount of fees paid in the preceding 12 months
- This does not limit liability for gross negligence or violation of law
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and services are provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We specifically disclaim:
- Warranty of merchantability
- Warranty of fitness for a particular purpose
