Important Statement About Our Services

TruePath Resolution provides tax resolution services, tax advisory, and representation before the IRS. Please read this statement carefully before using our services.

1. We Are Not Attorneys (Except Where Applicable)

TruePath Resolution is a tax resolution service composed of tax specialists with extensive experience. Our team does NOT consist of licensed attorneys unless specifically stated in your case.

This means:

  • We cannot provide formal legal advice
  • If your case requires legal analysis, we can refer you to licensed outside attorneys
  • The information we provide is tax and operational guidance, not legal advice

2. We Are Not Certified Public Accountants (CPAs)

Although we have experience in taxation, our team of specialists operates under IRS Enrolled Agent rules and as professionals with demonstrated tax experience. If you need CPA services for tax preparation or auditing, we can refer you to certified colleagues.

3. Results Are Not Guaranteed

The resolution of tax debts depends on many factors, many of which are outside our control. These include:

  • The IRS's discretion in evaluating your case
  • Your tax history and prior payment record
  • Changes in your financial situation
  • New laws or IRS interpretations
  • The completeness and accuracy of the documentation you provide

We do not promise specific results. What we do promise is to represent your interests professionally and to explore every legal option available under the law.

4. Confidentiality and Privacy of Sensitive Information

When you work with TruePath Resolution, you will share highly sensitive tax and financial information. We commit to:

  • Keeping your information confidential under professional principles
  • Not disclosing information without your express consent
  • Complying with all privacy and data protection laws (CCPA, etc.)
  • Storing your information securely

5. Our Role and Authority

When you engage us, you authorize us to:

  • Represent you before the IRS through a Power of Attorney (Form 2848)
  • Communicate with the IRS on your behalf
  • Negotiate resolution options in your favor
  • File required documents

However:

  • You are the owner of your case and your tax debts
  • Any final agreement with the IRS must be accepted by you
  • We report to you regularly on the status of your case
  • You may terminate our representation at any time

6. Your Responsibilities

So that we can represent you effectively, you must:

  • Provide complete, accurate, and honest information
  • Disclose ALL outstanding tax debts, including prior years
  • Inform us of changes in your situation (change of address, phone number, employment status)
  • Respond to IRS communications under our direction
  • Comply with the terms of any agreement we reach with the IRS

7. Future Taxes

Resolving past tax debts does NOT resolve the obligation to:

  • File future tax returns on time
  • Pay taxes on future income
  • Maintain ongoing tax compliance

If you do not meet future tax obligations, the IRS may reinstate the prior debt or impose new penalties.

8. Fees and Costs

Your fees will be discussed and agreed IN WRITING before we begin work. This includes:

  • Total fee amount for services
  • Payment structure (when payment is due)
  • Reimbursable expenses (IRS fees, mailings, etc.)
  • What happens if your case resolves sooner than expected
  • Refund policy (where applicable)

There are no hidden fees. If anything changes, we will discuss it with you first.

9. Changes in the Law

Tax laws change frequently. If legal changes occur during your case that affect your situation, we will notify you. However, we are not responsible for legislative changes that negatively affect your position after your case is closed.

10. Limitation of Liability

Our liability for any error, omission, or negligence is limited to the total amount of fees you have paid in the preceding 12 months. This does not apply to gross negligence or intentional violation of the law.
